The Mayor and Council are appointed to serve as directors, liaisons, or delegates to a number of agencies representing different levels of government, committees of Council, and external community groups. The Mayor's Taskforce on Climate Action (MTCA) serves as an advisory role to Council with respect to high value and high priority mitigation and adaptation actions that will have the greatest impact on advancing Council's Strategic Priority of "Climate Leadership and Environmental Stewardship" and its accompanying goals.
