BizPaL is an innovative, free online service that provides you with simplified access to information about business permits, licences, and other requirements needed to establish, operate, and grow your business. BizPaL was created to help identify what you may need from participating levels of government, quickly and easily. Please note that the BizPaL database is not all inclusive, and you will still have to conduct additional research to ensure that your business is regulatory compliant.

Getting a business licence is a simple process that is required of all businesses operating in Maple Ridge. City staff will help you work through the process of getting permits (if applicable) and your business licence.

The Downtown Maple Ridge Business Improvement Association (DMRBIA) exists to encourage and promote business in the downtown area through various cooperative projects and operations which aim to improve the downtown business community in general. Programs and services offered to members include Safety & Security, Beautification & Revitalization, and Events & Promotions.

All businesses located in the DMRBIA catchment area are automatically members and are encouraged to engage and/or volunteer with their association.

WorkBC Centre Maple Ridge works with employers to understand their business needs and helps them find qualified candidates. Services provided to employers include assistance with finding employees (including resumé vetting); work experience placements; tools and resources, including HR webinars and workshops; recruitment support through job fairs or company-specific hiring fairs; assistance preparing recruitment materials and training plans; and information and support to access funding, training grants, and wage subsidies.

Procurement Assistance Canada helps you find the resources and services available to support your business, including a procurement-related event calendar, workshops, seminars, and other resources for businesses interested in selling goods and services to government.

The Securing Small Business Rebate Program provides small businesses with funds for vandalism repairs and preventative measures. Eligible businesses can receive up to $2,000 per year for reparative costs and up to $1,000 for preventative measures. 

Applications are retroactive from January 1, 2023, and will be accepted until January 31, 2025, or until program funds are fully allocated.

Businesses in Downtown Maple Ridge have access to programs, services, and funding specific to their community, including Lock Out Crime Through Environmental Design (LOCTED), the Camera-Add program, the Core Area Patrol, and graffiti reporting and removal.
