We're Transitioning to Faster Online Building Permit Applications
Construction of new buildings, additions and changes to existing commercial, industrial and multi-residential buildings requires several approvals and permits to ensure that the construction meets City requirements, safety standards and all other applicable laws.

The Online Services Portal is designed to make our permit application process faster, easier, and more transparent. By moving away from a paper-based system, we’re simplifying the way residents, builders, and businesses interact with the City. This digital transformation helps reduce wait times, increases efficiency, and supports our goal of making Maple Ridge a thriving, sustainable community.
The portal is designed for everyone—residents, local business owners, developers, builders, and others—who want to contribute to our city’s growth in alignment with our new brand identity: "City on the Move, Bold by Nature, Driven by Community."
Currently, the portal supports New Home Construction and Tenant/Landlord Improvement building permit applications. More permit types will be added over time, with the goal of making all permit applications available online by the end of 2026.
Account and Login
Click "Create Account" on the homepage and follow the step-by-step instructions. Be sure to review and accept the Electronic Signature Acknowledgement during setup. After submitting your details, a verification email with a PIN will be sent to you. Use the PIN to complete your account creation.

Yes! Log in and navigate to "My Profile" on the top menu bar. From there, you can update your phone number or address.
Our policy allows one account per email address. You may use a shared email address to create a single account, but it’s not possible to register multiple accounts using the same email.
Application Process
Once logged in, click “Add New Permit”. The process includes five steps, and the required information will depend on the type of permit you choose. Upload all necessary documents to complete your submission.
Required documents vary depending on the permit type. The portal will guide you on what’s needed based on your selection.
Yes! You can use the "Save for Later" feature starting from Step 3: Additional Information, after selecting the permit type and property details. Just make sure all required fields are filled before saving.
To view your outstanding fees, go to "My Permits"> "Detail">"Fees & Payment". You can choose which items to pay for and select your preferred payment method
We accept VISA and MasterCard. After payment, print and sign your permit license.

Status and Updates
Check the "Status" column under "My Permits." For detailed updates, click “Detail” and navigate to the "Processes" tab.
