How Was The Inspire The Heart Society Formed?

A steering committee of youth and adults was created to work with the newly formed non-profit "Maple Ridge Youth Centre Society" which was founded originally on September 24, 1992. A consultant was initially hired to work with different groups to produce specifications and an implementations Strategy for a first-of-a-kind Youth Centre. On August 29, 1994, the Charities Division, a part of Revenue Canada granted the society permission to accumulate funds over a number of years for this specific project. In partnership with the City of Maple Ridge—formerly known as the District of Maple Ridge—construction on the "Greg Moore Youth Centre" began in 1999 and was completed in October 22, 2001. On November 29, 2021 the Board of Directors decided to change the name on the  to "INSPIRE THE HEART CHILD & YOUTH SOCIETY" on November 29, 2021 to be more encompassing to support both children and youth.
