The Active Kids Club (AKC) program is a licensed after school program that operates in partnership with School District No. 42. This program is available at Albion, Laity View, Kanaka and Yennadon Elementary.
Welcome to the Active Kids Club Program!
Children in grades Kindergarten to 12 years old are provided with safe supervision and recreation programming from trained City of Maple Ridge Recreation Leaders. The program is provided within the listed elementary schools from dismissal until 6:00PM. Program opportunities are safe, fun, active and inclusive and adhere to Provincial Childcare Licensing Regulations, governed by Fraser Health Authority. In addition to Childcare Licensing guidelines, The AKC program follows all Provincial & Municipal Guidelines, WorkSafe BC requirements and align with School District No. 42 policies.
The AKC program strives to support children with their development through play, active movement, imagination, social interaction, and a sense of curiosity in the world around them.
Program Information
- Times | 2:20 pm(school dismissal)–6:00 pm
- Locations | Albion, Kanaka, Laity View and Yennadon Elementary schools
- Program Cost | AKC was approved for the optional Fee Reduction Initiative Program, from the Provincial Child Care Operating Funding program for AKC families. Fees without the reduction are $22.35. Below are the fees with the additional funded reduction.
- Kindergarten: $14.35 per child per day
- Grade 1 to 12 years: $19.47 per child per day
2024-2025 AKC Program Registration!
Registration opens: May 14th at 6:00 am for the 2024-2025 school year. Registration is first come, first serve and space is limited.
We are no longer accepting applications for the Kanaka, Laity View and Yennadon AKC locations for 2024–2025.
Step 1 | Calendar and Financial Information
- Complete AKC Calendar Request Form for each individual child.
- Upload Visa or Mastercard information on City of Maple Ridge Online Registration account.
- Submit completed form to: akc@mapleridge.ca (one email per family).
All steps must be completed in Step 1 for us to accept your calendar.

Step 2 | Registration Waiver
Once we have received your calendar and confirmed that all steps have been completed, the AKC team will send you an email with information to complete Step 2, the registration waiver.
Please note the registration waiver must be completed prior to the Step 3, confirmation. Failure to complete registration waiver will result in having to recomplete Step 1.
Step 3 | Confirmation
The AKC team will notify all families with confirmed or waitlisted spots in early June 2024.
