The City of Maple Ridge hosted the 2024 BC Summer Games from July 17 to 21, 2024. The event saw over 3100 participants from all corners of the province of BC converge on our community for BC’s largest amateur sports competition.
The motto of our Games was ‘Celebrating Competition & Community’ recognizing the extraordinary nature of this multi-sport event that brought participants from around the province supported by the over 1700 volunteers from Maple Ridge and surrounding communities that delivered a superb Summer Games experience.
The complete list of sports and venues can be found at: Spectators - BC Games
The volunteer photographers captured close to 12,000 images of the sports competitions and community events. Those photos can be viewed at the BC Games Flickr site: BC Games’s albums | Flickr.
We encourage athletes, families, friends and volunteers to look through the albums and share the photos on their social media channels.
You can search the results by sport or community at the BC Games website: Participant Lists and Results - BC Games
As noted, the Maple Ridge 2024 BC Summer Games would not have been possible were it not for the incredible volunteer team consisting of over 1700 of your neighbours. The local Summer Games Society president was Laura Butler, and the Vice President was Ernie Daykin. They were joined by a team of Directors and Chairs who recruited their volunteer teams to deliver the event.

“Thank you to the over 1700 volunteers who made this monumental undertaking possible,” continued Mayor Ruimy. “This is a testament to one of the superpowers of our community - our incredible volunteerism. We are grateful for the leadership of Laura Butler and Ernie Daykin, the President and Vice President of the Summer Games Society, who assembled an incredible team of Directors and Chairs. You all made Maple Ridge shine.”
We did it. All of us working together.
