10 Steps for Filming in Maple Ridge
You can reach out at any time to enquire about all things filming. For example, qualifying locations (public and private), roadway filming/parking, neighbourhoods, business districts, etc.
The Film Coordinator will request a deposit from production that will be drawn down on during reconciliation for all fees and charges and act as a damage deposit for all City services. Production companies must provide the deposit, as per the request of the Film Coordinator. The deposit should be in the form of a cheque made payable to "The City of Maple Ridge". Payment can be left with the reception desk at City Hall's first floor.

- This application is exclusively for production information and is required to establish your filming account to initiate your filming activity in Maple Ridge. You will only need to do this once for each production (e.g., Film Company name, address, Location Manager, etc.). **Be sure to follow the unique identifier rules**
- Please note you will need to have your Business License Application and a copy of your certificate of insurance naming the City of Maple Ridge
- This application is exclusively for location information and is required in order to film anywhere in Maple Ridge—public or private. You can do this application once per location or, if you know all your locations, you can put up to four on one application. **Ensure you use your unique identifier to tie it back to your Film Permit Application**
- Please note you will need your Film Notice and logistics maps for each location to submit this application
Electrical Contractor Authorization Form for Filming
This application is to be filled in by the Generator Operator. The locations team should send all location details to the generator operator for them to fill in those sections. All other details should be known by 'Genny Op'. **Please ensure you pass along the unique identifier to tie it back to your Film Permit Application and Film Location Application.**
- If approved, a Film Permit will be issued for filming in Maple Ridge
- Should feedback be provided, follow the Film Coordinator's direction for next steps
- Production to notify the neighborhood of filming a minimum three business days in advance after approval from the Film Coordinator
- Polling may be required
- Production to film in adherence to the Maple Ridge film policy and bylaw
- Depending on the filming location and the scale of the project, the Film Coordinator may assign a city liaison to be present on-site. This liaison is provided to support the production, especially when filming on city property or in sensitive areas known as "hot locations." The presence of a liaison can facilitate smoother interactions with the community and local authorities, ensuring that the production maintains a positive relationship with the public and adheres to city regulations.
