Physical Literacy is the foundation of all recreation programs at the City of Maple Ridge! Creating opportunities to teach and enhance the fundamental movement skills of all residents, regardless of age or ability, is a priority for our programming year round.
What is Physical Literacy?
Physical Literacy is when individuals have developed the skills, confidence and motivation to move and engage in physical activities throughout their life.
Maple Ridge Parks, Recreation & Culture is committed to encouraging a love for movement while building upon participants' confidence and competence to ensure their skills toolkit keeps them active.
Check out Sport for Life for demonstrative videos of physical literacy skills (jumping, striking, kick and more!) or explore the options below to learn more about our Physical Literacy initiatives like MOVE Maple Ridge and the Maple Ridge Sport Network.
