Our Personal Trainers will work with you to understand your needs and create a customized workout to help you achieve your goals.

All individual sessions are 60 minutes in duration including the assessment. All tandem sessions are 75 minutes in duration including the assessment. The assessment is required for all new clients.

Personal Training Frequently Asked Questions
Each personal training session is 60 minutes in duration. This includes a warm up, your uniquely curated exercise program and a cool down.
No! Your personal training fees is inclusive of your entry into our facility. If you wish to use another area of the Maple Ridge Leisure Centre after your session, you will need to check back in with our Front Desk and pay admission for the area you wish to access (pool, sauna, fitness class, etc.) You can pay drop-in, or purchase a pass.
Please wear clothes that you can move in. You will need to be able to have good range of motion for all exercises. We suggest athletic wear and runners for footwear.
All Personal Training sessions will be held at the Maple Ridge Leisure Centre (11925 Haney Place, Maple Ridge).
We do not accept these clients currently.
With 24 hours’ notice from your scheduled session you can receive a full refund. If less than 24 hours’ notice is given, or you do not show up for a scheduled session, you will be charged for that session.
Our trainers come from a variety of backgrounds and are either registered with the BC Recreation and Parks Association (BCRPA), CanFitPro, American Council of Exercise (ACE) or BC Association of Kinesiologist (BCAK). Our trainers offer a range of experience which can include working with older adults, sport teams, Pre/Post natal. All trainers are required to maintain their certifications by taking courses, workshops and/or attending conferences.
The trainer will use a series of tests to measure your strengths and limitations. Follow the assessment the client will sit down with a trainer to discuss fitness goals and build a fitness plan. Assessments are done to ensure that a personal trainer understands all aspects of the clients strengths and limitations in order to best help the client reach their health and fitness goals. These assessments are a great starting point to measure your success when you are nearing the end of your sessions.
Are You An External Rehabilitation Specialist?
The City of Maple Ridge welcomes professionally affiliated External Rehabilitation Specialists. All External Rehab Workers must be approved by the City of Maple Ridge to work with clients at the Maple Ridge Leisure Centre.
To request approval, submit a completed application via email to personaltraining@mapleridge.ca along with digital copies of requested documentation (listed in application). Complete applications will be reviewed within 3-5 business days.
