Kicking off April 26, the initiative brings together residents, visitors, and businesses to experience a safe, welcoming, and vibrant downtown.

Social Saturdays Are Back!

From April 26 through October 25, every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Memorial Peace Park transforms into a pedestrian-only plaza for:
- Picnics and play
- Live music and performances
- The Haney Farmers Market
- Special community festivals — like Celebrate Earth Day
Note: Vehicle access will be restricted in Memorial Peace Park during these hours, including the Haney Place Loop. Alternate access is available via McIntosh Avenue.
Safety & Community First
With support from the City, RCMP, and Downtown Maple Ridge Business Improvement Association (DMRBIA), the initiative focuses on:
- Public safety & crime prevention
- Emergency response readiness
- Support services for vulnerable populations
Look for Community Safety Tents, bylaw and RCMP presence, and outreach teams providing resources, giveaways, and friendly guidance.

More Ways We’re Enhancing Downtown
- Increased foot patrols and safety team presence
- Addressing vacant & nuisance properties
- Downtown beautification: banners, landscaping, cleaning
- Fire safety activities, community giveaways, and a Grand Prize Draw
