Infrastructure Servicing

When land is developed, or when major renovations to existing property affect City infrastructure, the City must review and approve the infrastructure design before it's constructed.

Examples of City infrastructure:

  • Water mains, sanitary sewer mains
  • Drainage mains, culverts, ditches
  • Street trees, boulevard landscaping, swales
  • Roads, bridges, sidewalks, curbs, letdowns
  • Street lights, traffic signals
  • Signs

Servicing Review

Property owners seeking to upgrade private property should contact the City for a servicing review before submitting a building permit application. The City will provide a preliminary assessment of the infrastructure and identify any municipal works and services that may be required at the time of building permit application. To request a servicing review, contact 604-467-7339 or Engineering@MapleRidge.ca. Fees apply.

Development Engineering Review Process

The Development Engineering review process—during rezoning, subdivision, and building construction/renovation—consists of three phases, which occur during the applicable permit approval process.
