The 2025 Annual Report is now available for public review. The report can be viewed in pdf or flipping book format online and printed copies are available by contacting City Hall.
Members of the public who wish to submit comments or questions to Council regarding the report can email Clerks@MapleRidge.ca
Submissions received by June 18, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. will be included in the agenda package for the June 23, 2026, Council meeting. Submissions received after that and up to 12 p.m. on June 23 will be provided at the meeting for consideration.
All submissions will be published.
2025 Annual Report
The City of Maple Ridge 2025 Annual Report (PDF) is now available and will be received by Council at the June 23, 2026 Council meeting.
The Annual Report provides a comprehensive overview of the City’s initiatives accomplished in 2025, including detailed audited financial statements and activities planned for the coming year that align with Council’s strategic priorities.
2025 Highlights by Council Strategic Priority
Liveable Community
- Exceeded the Province’s housing target order by 23%
- Implementing $16.6 million in investments to support housing through a Housing Accelerator Fund grant
- Updated key area plans to support growth near transit
- Advanced major transportation and utility projects, including Abernethy Way improvements
- Invested in parks and public spaces, including a new spray park at Maple Ridge Park
Climate Leadership & Environmental Stewardship
- Endorsed Resilient Future 2050, the City’s first Climate Action Plan
- Received a UBCM Climate & Energy Action Award for climate leadership
- Adopted Zero Carbon Step Code requirements for residential construction
- Expanded fleet electrification and installed new EV chargers at the Operations Centre
Engaged, Healthy Community
- Advanced planning for recreation investments, including a new aquatics and recreation centre

GFOA Award
The Annual Report for the years 1991 through 2024 received the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association. The award recognizes excellence in governmental accounting and financial reporting and represents a significant accomplishment by Maple Ridge staff. The City of Maple Ridge has been awarded the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officer Association for 35 consecutive years, the longest run of any City in Canada.
About the Annual Report
The report provides information on the financial position and results of operations, and must include the following information:
- the audited annual financial statements for the previous year
- a list of the permissive tax exemptions provided by Council and the amount of property tax that would have been imposed during the previous year if the exemption had not been granted for each exemption
- a report on the services and operations for the previous year
- a progress report on the performance of the City of Maple Ridge with respect to established objectives and measures
- a statement of objectives and measures that will be used as the basis for determining the performance during the current year and following year
- the details of any declarations of disqualification made against individual Council members during the previous year
- any other information Council considers advisable
Once completed, the annual report must be made available for public inspection. After making the report public, Council must wait a minimum of 14 days before holding an annual meeting on the report. This provides citizens with time to review the annual report, ask questions and prepare submissions. Council must give notice of the date, time, and place of the annual meeting in accordance with the Community Charter's requirements for public notice.
