Maple Ridge City Council has restructured its Advisory Committees

to better align with Council’s strategic priorities, streamline operations, and enhance overall functionality. 

The changes aim to create a more effective governance structure and support Council's long-term vision by consolidating the committees into four new advisory bodies, each focused on specific strategic priorities.

The Mayor and Council are appointed to serve as directors, liaisons, or delegates to a number of agencies representing different levels of government, committees of Council, and external community groups. Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows Arts Council

Map​le Ridge Youth Planning Table

The Maple Ridge Youth Planning Table is a committee made up of executive members and members at large that are focused on achieving the goals outlined in the Maple Ridge Youth Strategy through collaboration with youth, their families and local agencies to foster a community that supports and engages youth in nurturing their mental, social and physical health and well being.

Mayor's Taskforce on Climate Action

The Mayor's Taskforce on Climate Action (MTCA) serves as an advisory role to Council with respect to high value and high priority mitigation and adaptation actions that will have the greatest impact on advancing Council's Strategic Priority of "Climate Leadership and Environmental Stewardship" and its accompanying goals.

Mayors Committee

The Metro Vancouver Mayors Committee is the standing committee of the Metro Vancouver Board that provides advice and recommendations on issues related to the governance and operations of the GVRD, MVHC, GVSDD and GVWD.

Mayors' Council on Regional Transportation

The Mayors' Council approves long-term transportation strategies (≥ 30 years), 10-year transportation investment plans, first-time short-term fares and short-term fare increases, changes in customer satisfaction survey processes, changes in customer complaint processes oversees sale of major facilities and assets, variations in TransLink director compensation levels and TransLink's Executive Compensation Plan.

Metro Vancouver Regional District Board of Directors

The Municipal Advisory Committee on Accessibility and Inclusiveness (MACAI) provides strategic advice, guidance, and recommendations to Council that will identify, remove and prevent barriers in or interacting with the City of Maple Ridge for individuals with impairments.

Parcel Tax Review Panel

The Parcel Tax Roll Review Panel is established pursuant to Section 204 of the Community Charter. It was formerly known as the Court of Revision or Frontage Tax.

Performance and Audit Committee

Pitt Meadows Airport Society

The Pitt Meadows Airport Society owns and operates the Pitt Meadows Regional Airport which is the only Fraser Valley aerodrome located on the north side of the Fraser River serving fixed wing and fresh water float operators. It serves the area north of the Fraser River from Mission up to and including Vancouver.
