Maple Ridge, B.C., May 15, 2026 — The City of Maple Ridge is advising homeowners and businesses that 2026 Property Tax Notices, which include applicable utility charges, will be arriving next week by mail and have been emailed to accounts that have signed up for online services. Property taxes are due on Thursday, July 2, 2026.

2026 Service and Billing Updates
The City has introduced changes to improve customer convenience and align billing practices:

Understanding Your Property Taxes
Property taxes are the City’s primary source of funding for essential local services and infrastructure, including:
- police and fire services
- road maintenance
- parks and trails
- recreation facilities and programs
- community events
- business retention and attraction
Approximately 30% of property tax revenue is collected by the City on behalf of other taxing authorities, including BC Assessment, TransLink, Metro Vancouver, the Municipal Finance Authority, and the Provincial School Tax.

How Your Tax Dollars Are Invested
The 2026 budget balances affordability with rising external costs, lower-than-expected property assessments across the region—reducing projected City revenue—and increases in utility rates driven by changes in regional infrastructure costs beyond the City’s control.
The 2026 Budget investments in community priorities identified through the fall 2025 Community Survey: public safety, infrastructure and transportation, economic development, and responsible growth.
