Pay Online and get bills and notices by email to avoid delays
The City of Maple Ridge is encouraging residents and businesses to use online services and alternative ways to stay connected with the City year-round with ongoing Canada Post labour negotiations. As there may be delays in mailing upcoming bills and notices due to the Canada Post service impacts, residents and businesses are advised to sign up for MyCity, the City’s secure online portal.
Property tax payments must be received in our office, by the due date, to be considered on time.
Ways to pay your Property Taxes

(Credit card payments are subject to 2% non-refundable merchant service fee)
- Can pay taxes (maximum of $5,000 per transaction). Multiple payments may be made if your balance exceeds the limit.
- By automated phone (1-855-480-9594) or online
- Convenience fee will be added to your payment amount
- Search "Maple Ridge" as a payee, add the tax option (please note if paying the flat rate utilities from your Property Tax notice, please pay to your property tax account)
- Property Tax account number is your property's folio number or roll number without dashes or spaces
- Contact your bank directly regarding any questions regarding online banking
- Have your current property tax notice with you.
- Open Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, excluding Statutory holidays

- Debit, cheque, credit card or cash is accepted (cash has a maximum of $5,000)
- If paying by credit card, a 2.00% non-refundable merchant service fee will be added to your payment amount
- Cheque - Postdated cheques are accepted.
- Postdated cheques for the due date may take 3 - 4 business days to process upon receiving, but it will be acknowledged for the postdate or received date at City Hall, whichever is later.
- Your receipt is the cancelled cheque unless otherwise requested.
- Bank returned, post-dated cheques for the due date are treated as a late payment. Penalties and a service fee will be applied.

- Located as a slot in the wall at the far west corner of the Economic Development office beside City Hall
- Cheques - please include the remittance slip or attach a note of which account to apply your payment to
- Do not deposit cash in the drop box
Mail in Cheque
- You can mail a cheque payable to the City of Maple Ridge, include remittance slips or note indicating which account to apply payment to. We accept post dated cheques. The cancelled cheque is your receipt unless otherwise requested.
- The date of the payment is the date it is received in our office. If it is received after the due date, a penalty will apply.
The drop box and mail is checked daily and payments will be processed. If you require a receipt for a payment, please indicate on the invoice submitted and a receipt will be mailed or emailed out.
The Province of BC offers a low interest loan program designed to help qualified BC Home Owners pay their annual property taxes. For Detailed Information and qualification requirements, please visit the Provincial Deferment Website.
To avoid Penalty before the due date be sure to:
- apply for your deferment online
- Claim your Home Owner grant, if eligible
- Pay the Total Utility Services amount listed on your Property Tax Notice
The Provincial Budget 2026 includes changes to the interest rate terms for the property tax deferment program to introduce compounding interest. These changes will apply to all taxes deferred for 2026 and subsequent tax years. For property owners who deferred taxes prior to 2026, the interest calculation is explained on the provincial site.
Ways to Prepay Taxes:
TIPP - Tax Instalment Prepayment Plan
- choose between a 10-month program (August to May - 10 payments) plus any outstanding balance withdrawn on the due date or due date only
- if you choose the monthly plus the due date, we will withdraw a calculated amount set by the City, based off an estimate of next year's Property Taxes. Updated amount for next year will show on your annual Property Tax Notice.
- Monthly Payments will be withdrawn on the 1st of each month.
- No withdrawals in June
- Sign up anytime of the year
- Program will automatically continue until cancellation is requested in writing
- Payments not honoured by the applicant's financial institution are subject to a service fee. Please see Maple Ridge Fees and Charges Bylaw
- 3 returned payments will result in your withdrawal being cancelled
- Taxpayers selling their property and enrolled in TIPP are responsible for cancelling TIPP
If eligible for a Home Owner Grant, claim by the due date to avoid penalties. Home Owner Grant must be claimed yearly.
