Maple Ridge, B.C., June 30, 2025 – The City of Maple Ridge has launched a new online discovery hub connecting residents and visitors to local events and experiences, all in one place—while giving community groups and businesses a free tool to promote their offerings.

Integrated across the City’s website, the platform responds to resident feedback calling for more access to local experiences and things to do. It features an interactive event calendar and activity listings that are searchable, customizable, and open to third-party submissions.

“There’s so much happening in Maple Ridge—from festivals and markets to unique and unmissable experiences—and this hub makes it easier for everyone to find and take part in it all,” said Mayor Dan Ruimy. “It also gives our local businesses and organizations an effective one-stop place to share what they’re doing. It’s all about making connections, supporting local, and celebrating everything that makes our city such a great place to live and visit.”

How It Works

The hub allows users to browse events in multiple formats, including a traditional calendar view or an image-based carousel. Advanced filters—such as event type, location, age group, and cost—make it easy to find what you're looking for. Users can also take advantage of AI-powered smart search by entering questions like, “What family-friendly events are happening this weekend?” to receive instant, tailored results.

Businesses and Community Groups Encouraged to Submit Events

Local organizations, tourism and hospitality operators, and event organizers can create a profile and submit their events directly through the hub by completing a form. After filling in details including the event description, images, tags, and key details—submissions are reviewed by City staff to ensure they align with the hub’s guidelines and event policies. Once approved, listings appear on the main discovery hub and are embedded as widgets on the City’s website to boost customer visibility.

Event listings can be created at Discover.MapleRidge.ca/AllEvents

Activity listings can be created at Discover.MapleRidge.ca/MustDo

This shared platform opens the door for broader inclusion, giving smaller groups and independent businesses a low-barrier way to connect with audiences and increase participation in local events. Discover Events and Activities Today

The dynamic tool is currently live and integrated throughout the City’s website including MapleRidge.ca/Events. The hub can also be viewed directly at Discover.MapleRidge.ca where users will have two main options of browsing free and paid recreation opportunities:

  • Festivals and Events: Discover local festivals, concerts, business, and community events with advanced filtering options tailored to interests.
  • Must Do Activities: Explore free and paid activities from third-party tourism and hospitality providers, creating endless opportunities for discovery.

Looking Ahead

The City plans to continue evolving the discovery hub with more content and features to further enhance accessibility and user experience.
