Property Tax Deferment

Submitting a Deferment Renewal or New application is done On-line on the BC Provincial Website

Deferment applications will not be accepted or given out at City Hall.

Renewal Deferment Application

Please renew your deferment on-line at:

www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/taxes/property-taxes/annual-property-tax/defer-taxes/renew

Click on the ’Apply to Renew’ button.

New Deferment Application

Apply on-line at gov.bc.ca/propertytaxdeferment

If you do not have access to a computer, contact the Provincial Property Tax Deferment office at 1-888-355-2700

Important before October 1, 2020 (to avoid penalty), you still need to:

  • Claim your Home Owner Grant and
  • Pay the Total Utility Services amount to the City of Maple Ridge

General Information



  • A Service BC Provincial loan program that allows eligible home owners to defer all, or part, of their annual property taxes
  • You will still need to:
  1. Pay Previous years taxes, penalties, and Utility User Fees (sewer, wanter and Blue Box fees)
  2. Claim Home Owner Grant
  3. Complete the on-line application available, after May 1, 2020
  • Complete applications must be submitted on or before the Property Tax Due Date to avoid penalties
  • 2 types of programs: Families with Children and Regular Deferment
