Building on the success of the 2024/25 pilot program in Maple Ridge Park, this expanded pilot permits authorized mobile food vendors to operate in additional park locations to test and demonstrate the viability of an ongoing mobile vending program in City-owned and operated park areas.
Eligible mobile food vendors with a current Maple Ridge Business Licence for mobile food vending can apply starting February 3 to participate in this expanded pilot program.
Only mobile food & beverage vending will be permitted under the Mobile Food Vending Program (Expanded Pilot). Non-food vending is not included in the Program. The 2026 expanded pilot will see Food Truck Zones established in Whonnock Lake Park and Maple Ridge Park.

Mobile food vendors with a valid Maple Ridge Business Licence (Mobile Food Vendor) and proper liability insurance are eligible to participate in the expanded pilot program. Non-food vending is not included in the program.
The operating season for the Mobile Food Vending Program (Expanded Pilot) begins April 1 and runs until Thanksgiving Day in October.
Food Truck Zones are available 7 days a week during the operating season, unless otherwise required for safety and/or operational reasons, private facility bookings, or other City requirements.
Mobile food vendors can be verified anytime during the year. Requests for Food Truck Zones will be accepted starting February 1 and processed on a first-in basis. Allocation confirmations will be completed and communicated to vendors by March 15 or within 2-3 weeks for applications received during the operating season.
- Food Truck Zones have been established for mobile food vending at key City-owned parks and facilities, and vending is permitted only in these designated locations. For the Expanded Pilot Program, two zones are available in each of Whonnock Lake Park and Maple Ridge Park
- Food Truck Zones will be signed and/or marked to clearly identify where mobile food vending is permitted
- Due to construction activity, availability of Food Truck Zones at Maple Ridge Park could be limited during the 2026 operating season
Maps of Food Truck Zones for the 2026 Expanded Pilot Program are available at the links below:
Complete the Vendor Application form and send it to the Economic Development office, where City staff will verify your mobile food vending business. You'll also need to provide a Certificate of Insurance and agree to the Operational Requirements of the Mobile Food Vending Program (Expanded Pilot).
There's no deadline to be verified to participate in the program, but your business must be verified before requesting any Food Truck Zone bookings.
You will need to provide an updated Certificate of Insurance prior to the expiration of your current policy, otherwise your verification and participation will be suspended.
Participating vendors need to obtain and maintain, at their own cost and for the duration of their participation in the program, an insurance policy covering Tenant Legal Liability in an amount not less than $250,000 and Commercial General Liability insurance in an amount not less than $2,000,000, and include the City of Maple Ridge as an additional insured on the policy. The policy must also provide that the said policy shall not be cancelled, lapsed, or materially altered without 30 days' notice in writing to the City of Maple Ridge.
As part of the verification process, vendors must provide a Certificate of Insurance to the City prior to their first day of operation in a Food Truck Zone. If the insurance policy expires during the operating season, the vendor must provide an updated Certificate of Insurance to the City before operating in a Food Truck Zone, regardless of the vendor holding a confirmed booking.
Vendors found to be operating without proper insurance or not providing a valid Certificate of Insurance to the City will have their operating permission revoked and future bookings cancelled.
Once your business has been verified, you'll be able to request operating dates in the current year's operating season. Booking requests from non-verified vendors will not be processed or held in the queue.
Requests for Food Truck Zones will be received starting February 3, and the allocation of zones will be on a first-in basis. Allocation of Food Truck Zones will be completed and confirmations will be communicated to applicants by Economic Development staff by March 15 (or withing 2-3 weeks for requests received during the operating season). Requests and allocations will continue throughout the season if spots are or become available.
Food Truck Zone requests are not confirmed until a written confirmation is received from the Economic Development office.
A refundable $500 damage/security deposit is must be paid to the City by the Vendor no later than five (5) business days before their first confirmed Operating Day. The deposit will be retained by the City until the vendor no longer wishes to book Food Truck Zones through the City's Mobile Food Vending program and has completed their booked dates for the current operating season. If the damage/security deposit is not received at least five (5) business days before the first operating date, the Vendor's bookings will be cancelled until the deposit is provided.
These procedures may be amended or adjusted as required from time to time.
For this expanded pilot, beyond the security/damage deposit, no program fees are payable by vendors during the Expanded Pilot program. However, the City reserves the right to impose fees and charges to recover expenses incurred due to vendor non-compliance with the Program requirements and/or impose fees and charges for future iterations of the program.
For the Expanded Pilot program, a refundable $500 security/damage deposit is required from each verified food vendor before bookings are confirmed.
When a permanent program is established, fees or charges will be levied to cover program and administrative costs.
Vendors complete a Booking Request form to submit their desired booking dates and locations.
Food Truck Zone requests from verified mobile food vendors will be accepted starting February 1 and processed on a first-in basis. Allocation confirmations will be completed and communicated to vendors by March 15. Requests are not confirmed until written confirmation is received from the Economic Development office.
Allocation of zones will be managed to ensure a variety of cuisines will be available to park users (i.e., two vendors offering the same cuisine will not be allocated zones in the same park on the same day).
Vendors will be permitted to request up to 15 operating days per location during the operating season, regardless of the number of Food Truck Zones at the location. Additional booking days may be available, depending on demand.
Some Food Truck Zones will be freely accessible by vendors, while some locations will require a key to unlock an access gate.
If a key is required to access your booked spot, one will be made available to confirmed vendors, who will have the responsibility of picking up and dropping off the key at the Economic Development office at Maple Ridge City Hall. The key can be retained until your final booking of the operating season or the Wednesday after Thanksgiving, whichever date is earlier.
You may operate in your booked Food Truck Zone during the opening hours of the park in which you're located.
Due to site constraints and safety concerns, the City may allow or require early arrival and/or delayed departure for certain Food Truck Zones. The City will generally not make special arrangements for access/egress by food vendors and will not be liable for damages incurred or caused by vendors or their vending units when entering or exiting the Food Truck Zone or park area.
No overnight parking is allowed.
Bookings may be cancelled without penalty or compensation by the City for reasons of safety, operational requirements, private facility bookings, or other reasons. Cancellations will be communicated to vendors as far in advance as possible.
As outlined in Part 8 of the City of Maple Ridge Public Places, Parks and Recreation Facilities Regulation Bylaw No. 7854-2022:
- Parks are closed to the public between the hours of 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM the next morning except to persons authorized in writing by the Chief Administrative Officer
- The Chief Administrative Officer may, at any time as they may deem necessary, temporarily close a Park or Recreation Facility or any portion thereof to the public.
To cancel a confirmed Food Truck Zone booking, please send an email with the cancelled dates to Invest@MapleRidge.ca as soon as possible. There is no penalty for cancelling a booking, but we would appreciate as much notice as possible so we can make the date available for other vendors and update the website to let park users know
If you cancel a booking, you're welcome to request a replacement date(s), provided you have not yet reached the seasonal limit per park location. Please note, that your new request will be processed in the order in which it was received, not on the date of your original request, and a replacement is not guaranteed.
Maple Ridge is in bear country!

Vendors must follow these Waste Management Guidelines to ensure a clean and safe environment for customers, other park users, and wildlife. The City reserves the right to revoke permission to operate on City property if a vendor’s operation creates a wildlife attraction hazard.
- Vendors must not permit the Vending Unit, or the area within a 10-metre radius surrounding the Vending Unit, to become untidy, unsightly, unsanitary, offensive, or hazardous, or permit the accumulation of unreasonable quantities of waste, refuse, or any other material or debris, in or about the Vending Unit, and will keep the Vending Unit clean, tidy, and in good condition
- Vendors must conduct litter and garbage pickup at least twice a day in the area within a 10-metre radius of the Vending Unit during each Operating Day
- Vendors must separate waste into three streams as per Metro Vancouver solid waste regulations, i.e., recyclables, organics/compostables, and general garbage
- Vendors must collect and dispose of any garbage, recycling, and compostable waste (including unused food products, packaging, and consumables) produced directly or indirectly by the Vendor or vending operation and within a 10-metre radius of the Vending Unit and not dispose of such waste in any garbage bins located in the park or Food Truck Zone venue
- Vendors must remove any waste associated with their operation from the site at the end of each operational period/day and dispose off-site at their own expense. Vendors are not permitted to dispose of waste in City-owned or managed receptacles or bins
- Vendors are permitted to have external waste receptacles to serve their customers, and these bins are solely the responsibility of the vendor to maintain
- Waste receptacles must not obstruct the sidewalk/footpath or interfere with access/egress to any surrounding business, property, or building
- Receptacles must be monitored and regularly emptied (at least twice per operational day) by the vendor, and the site must be kept clean and tidy
- Vendor-owned waste receptacles and collected waste materials must be removed at the end of each operational day and disposed of off-site by the Vendor at their own expense
- All wastewater must be collected and disposed at a proper disposal facility at the vendor’s sole expense. A list of dump stations is available from the Province's website
- Access/security gates must be securely closed and locked once the vending unit has passed to ensure that no ‘tailgaters’ follow
- Food Truck Zones are made available on an as-is basis. Vendors are not permitted to make any alterations to the spots, including but not limited to levelling, enlarging, removal or pruning of trees/vegetation, etc.
- If a vending unit requires level placement, vendors are responsible to bring their own blocks or other equipment and remove such items after each operating day
- The location, quantity, type, or any other detail of the mobile food vendor program in the park is subject to change due to reasons of operational requirements, safety, and/or customer experience
- The vending vehicle must be clean, well-lit, and aesthetically pleasing in appearance
- No lights, sounds, or actions that could be distracting to motorists or pedestrians, and no shouting, loud music, or voice amplification at any time
- The food truck/trailer/cart must be attended at all times while on City property (unless otherwise permitted in writing by the City)
- Overnight parking is not permitted in any Food Truck Zone
- Vending units must be equipped with their own energy and water sources and waste management systems
- Portable CSA-approved generators will generally be allowed, but their placement and/or use must comply with the device’s operating instructions and other safety requirements and must not create a nuisance or safety hazard for persons or animals
- Service windows or areas must be oriented to prevent customers from queueing or congregating in the path of motor vehicle traffic or paths of accessible travel (e.g., ramps). The service window should face towards the sidewalk or footpath and not require customers to enter traffic areas to access the vending unit
- Vendors may not sell to customers in or on motorized vehicles (i.e., drive-through style)
- Portable tents, canopies, furniture, or fixtures (e.g., tables, chairs, benches, counters, refrigeration units, etc) are not permitted to be set up
The vendors on this list have been verified to participate in the Mobile Food Vending Program (Expanded Pilot) for 2026. Vendors on this list must also hold confirmed bookings for Food Truck Zones in order to operate in specified City-owned parks.
If you are a mobile food vendor and would like to participate, please review the information in the For Mobile Food Vendors section on this page, then email Invest@MapleRidge.ca to have your business verified and begin requesting bookings.
