Project Description
This project will provide a significant upgrade to the Hammond Community Centre. Renovations to the 1970's hall includes the lobby, washrooms and building envelope along with new entry landscaping. A fieldhouse building for the sports field users and park patrons is also included. The existing sport court will be resurfaced and food truck infrastructure will be added to serve this community hub.

2023 – Project Update
The City is undergoing a feasibility study at the Hammond Community Park site to assess the suitability of a new recreation and aquatics facility at the park. Please see the Recreation Facility Feasibility Study project page for more information.
2021 – Project is on hold until further notice.
2020 – Detailed Design
After receiving public feedback on the concept plans, the concept was refined to include the feedback received.
December 4, 2019 – Community Consultation and Open House
This was a follow up to the stakeholder meeting held in 2016, when this project was originally identified as part of a number of AAP projects within our community. The City invited over 700 Hammond residents through direct mail out in the immediate area to attend an Open House for questions and feedback on information panels that staff and the design team presented on the proposed upgrades. The team was available to answer participant's questions and provide comment cards. Thank you to everyone who attended and provided feedback.
March 2019 – Architectural Design Services
The City onboarded a design team. The initial design phase commenced and included stakeholder and community engagement.
2016 – Alternative Approval Process (AAP)
As part of the AAP phase, a high level concept was proposed for the upgrades of the Hammond Community Centre.
