We're excited that the @GovernmentOfBC has announced its commitment of nearly $2 million in support to Maple Ridge-based manufacturer Jewel Welding Fabrication and Coatings Ltd. Through the BC Manufacturing Jobs Fund (BCMJF) and the Look West strategy to:

  • Expand production capacity for large-diameter hydroelectric and water-service piping used across BC
  • Develop new products and take on larger, more complex clean-energy projects
  • Create up to 45 new jobs (including 12 in the near term, with more anticipated over the next four years)

This investment will support construction of a new manufacturing facility and the purchase of advanced equipment, helping strengthen local supply chains, improve on-the-job safety through automation, and reduce reliance on out-of-province suppliers.

"Jewel's expansion into a new facility in Maple Ridge, supported by the Province through the BC Manufacturing Jobs Fund, is excellent news for our community," said Dan Ruimy. "This investment will create 45 new local jobs and supports our shared goal of growing a strong, sustainable economy. Maple Ridge is proud to support businesses that are innovating, creating opportunities for residents, and strengthening domestic manufacturing."
