Maple Ridge, B.C., Feb. 26, 2026 – The City of Maple Ridge continues to make strong progress on delivering the priorities that matter to residents, with nearly 70 per cent of original key results now completed in Council’s 2023-2026 Strategic Plan.

The City has released its Q4 2025 update on Council’s Strategic Plan, outlining progress across Council’s five priorities: Liveable Community; Engaged, Healthy Community; Diversified, Thriving Economy; Climate Leadership & Environmental Stewardship; and Governance & Corporate Excellence. The plan is guided by an Objectives and Key Results (OKR) approach, which focuses on measurable outcomes and clear community benefits.

“Council’s Strategic Plan is about delivering real results on what matters to our residents—stronger economy, safer neighbourhoods, more housing options, stronger community connections, and practical action on climate change,” said Mayor Dan Ruimy. “This Q4 update shows significant progress across all five priorities and reinforces our commitment to transparency, accountability, and getting critical infrastructure and services delivered for our community.”

Strong progress in the final year of the plan

By the end of Q4 2025, 42 of the 61 original key results (almost 70 per cent) were completed. Highlights include:

  • Expanding community access to free events within walking distance
  • Increasing participation in subsidized recreation programming by 11 per cent
  • Developing a Community Safety and Wellbeing Action Plan
  • Completing a Recreation Feasibility Study
  • Achieved strong growth in filming activity, generating $735,000 in direct City revenue in 2025
  • Expanding the cycling network by more than three kilometres
  • Securing 30 below-market housing units by Q4 2025
  • Adopting the City’s Climate Action Plan, Resilient Future 2050
  • Conserving more than 9 hectares of land as natural assets

In late 2025, the City introduced a refreshed reporting format that shifts the focus from individual activities to key results and community outcomes. This approach provides clearer context on what has been delivered, why it matters, and how progress contributes to Council’s broader priorities. 18 key results are still in progress and on track for completion by the end of 2026. 17 additional key results have been added to build on completed work, with two of those subsequently added key results completed as of Q4 2025.

“The OKR framework helps us stay focused on outcomes, not just outputs,” said Zvi Lifshiz, Chief Strategy Officer. “As we move through the final year of the plan, we’re sharpening our targets, strengthening our data, and clearly communicating how this work delivers value for the community.”

Progress is tracked and shared through the City’s online strategic plan dashboard and on the City’s social media channels under the banner ‘Maple Ridge Delivers’ helping residents see how priorities are being advanced and how investments are translating into real community benefits.
