Fire hydrants are an important part of our City’s safety infrastructure and their upkeep is important. Crews will be conducting maintenance and testing of hydrants over the next few days which may impact water quality or clarity for some residents.

Testing is planned on Feb. 5 and 6, and may affect properties in the following areas:
• Hinch Crescent West of 122 Ave
• 123 Ave East of 216 St
• Powell Ave West of 203 St
• 116 Ave between 256 St & 260 St
• Block of 128 Ave/Marshall Ave/251 St
• 119 Ave West of 212 St
• Patterson Ave West of 203 St
• Chatwin Ave West of 203 St

During testing, residents in these areas may experience a drop in water pressure or milky, cloudy, or even dirty water – this is temporary.

Here’s what to do if:
•    Your water turns milky: open a cold water tap slightly and run for one minute.
•    Your water is cloudy or discoloured: turn on an outside tap and run it for 5 minutes or until the water clears.

Wait until your water is clear before drinking.
