Maple Ridge, B.C., Sept. 10, 2024 – Don’t miss out on Our Neck of the Woods, a huge street festival taking over downtown Maple Ridge on Sept. 14 with award-winning musicians, free family activities, food, markets and fun and adventure for all.
Juno-winning The Strumbellas and Aaron Pritchett will headline the entertainment lineup at the City’s largest-ever community festival, celebrating the 150th anniversary of the City’s incorporation and its stewardship of the traditional lands of the Katzie (q̓ic̓əy̓) and Kwantlen (Qw’ó:ltl'el) First Nations.
Running from 12:00 to 10 p.m., Our Neck of the Woods will transform downtown Maple Ridge into a huge TransLink Car Free Day zone with music on three stages, free family activities, a Soaring Over Maple Ridge Zipline, vendors, displays, arts and culture, beverage gardens and the Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival. The festival will encompass Memorial Peace Park, 224 Street, 119 Avenue and McIntosh Avenue.
“We invite everyone to enjoy the hospitality of Maple Ridge with a day of fun, excitement, culture and community spirit,” said Mayor Dan Ruimy. “Our Neck of the Woods has something for everyone. Come for stellar entertainment, free family fun, markets, a zipline, food trucks, specially brewed craft beer or simply the joy of celebrating with others. It’s a fitting way to honour Maple Ridge’s 150th birthday and the history of the Katzie (q̓ic̓əy̓) and Kwantlen (Qw’ó:ltl'el) First Nations on these lands.”
