Maple Ridge, B.C., May 15, 2026 – The City of Maple Ridge is inviting residents, businesses, and community members to share feedback on how they prefer to receive City information and emergency alerts. Survey participants are eligible to enter to win a $50 gift card valid at over 90 local businesses.

The Communications Survey is available at Engage.MapleRidge.ca/CommunicationsSurvey until June 21 and asks participants about:

  • How they currently receive City information
  • Preferred communication channels
  • Barriers to accessing information
  • Preferred methods for emergency and non-emergency notifications
  • Recreation Program Guide preferences

As part of the survey, the City is also seeking to raise awareness about Alertable, the City's new emergency notification platform branded as Alert Maple Ridge, which provides alerts and localized instructions related to flooding, wildfires, evacuations, severe weather, and other critical public safety events.

"We want to make sure residents receive timely, relevant, and accessible information in the ways that work best for them," said Pardeep Purewal, Senior Manager, Corporate Communications and Public Engagement. "This feedback will continue to improve how the City communicates day-to-day information and emergency alerts in the future."

The survey is open until June 21 and takes approximately 5–7 minutes to complete. Participants who complete the survey can enter to win one of four $50 Downtown Business Improvement Association gift cards, valid at more than 90 local businesses in Maple Ridge.

To learn more and complete the survey, visit Engage.MapleRidge.ca/CommunicationsSurvey. Printed copies are also available upon request by calling 604-463-5221. City staff will be attending community pop-up events during the survey period to help promote the survey and encourage participation.

The survey builds on recent engagements the City has undertaken as part of a commitment to open and transparent governance and keeping residents informed and engaged in decision making.
