Celebrate National Child’s Day at PLAYfest in Maple Ridge Nov. 21-22

Maple Ridge, B.C., October 24, 2025 – Families are invited to celebrate National Child’s Day with two days of fun and creativity at PLAYfest, taking place November 21–22 at the Albion Community Centre. 

Hosted by the City of Maple Ridge, PLAYfest brings families together to honour children’s rights and the importance of play in childhood development through engaging performances, activities, and hands-on experiences for all ages. 

Friday Nov. 21 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. - Children’s Pajama Performance Night 

The festivities kick off with Children’s Pajama Performance Night on Friday, November 21, from 6 to 8:00 p.m. (performance doors open at 5:45 p.m.), featuring interactive, family-friendly entertainment including: 

  • Science World – On the Road Show: a high-energy, educational science experience. 
  • Ventriloquist Kellie Haines: comedy, puppets, and imagination brought to life on stage 

Tickets are required for attendance: 

  • Family Pass (2 Adults, 2 Children, includes popcorn & drink) – $30 
  • Child (0–18 years) – $5 
  • Adult – $18

Saturday, November 22, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. - Family Event 

The fun continues with free activities, including: 

  • Arts and crafts 
  • Bouncy castles (sponsored by Eventful Celebrations) 
  • Early years play spaces 
  • Face painting 
  • Youth vendor market (items available for purchase) 
  • Rights of the Child art project with Artist-in-Residence Alex Neff  
  • Food trucks

About National Child’s Day 

National Child’s Day is celebrated across Canada on November 20 to recognize the importance of children’s rights and the collective commitment to upholding them. Established through the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), it highlights every child’s right to be safe, healthy, and heard.
