A Night of Hauntingly Beautiful, Folk-Inspired Songs
Multinational interdisciplinary and Hong-Kong born Kristina Lao crafts luminous folk-pop melodies with a rich Brit-lilt that feels both intimate and quietly adventurous.
With over 100 co-writing credits under her belt—spanning collaborations with Simon Darlow (co-writer, “Slave to the Rhythm”), Robin Millar (Sade, Everything But the Girl), and Karl Dicaire2 (Big Wreck, Mother Mother)—Kristina’s music celebrates the spirit of connection and togetherness. From candlelit rooms to festival main stages of 15,000, she has performed over 300 shows across 30 cities in Asia, Europe, and North America.
Rooted in cross-cultural storytelling and influenced by Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, Regina Spektor, and Tracy Chapman, Kristina's voice resonates with listeners of all ages. Her music reflects her Canadian roots and a modern sensibility, inviting audiences to explore deeper emotions.
“...socially-charged storytelling...[Kristina’s] softly articulated Brit-lilt vocals float pensive melodies over breath-catching choruses.” —Vancouver Guardian
