Ryan Svendsen has called Maple Ridge home since 1993, when his family put down roots in Hammond. Today, he and his wife are raising their two daughters in the community they call home.
Ryan has been a firefighter since 2004, now serving as a Fire Captain, and served on Maple Ridge City Council from 2018 to 2022.
Those experiences have reinforced his approach to leadership: come prepared, listen, ask questions and make principled decisions.
Ryan is running for Council to help guide Maple Ridge’s growth responsibly, strengthen neighbourhoods, support families and local businesses, improve infrastructure, protect natural spaces and deliver value for taxpayers.
His commitment is simple: to come prepared, listen and work hard to make thoughtful, principled decisions that serve the long-term interests of Maple Ridge — while ensuring residents are heard and treated with respect.
Ryan is running independently and is committed to working constructively with everyone elected.
