Over the past few months, quite a few people have asked me whether I would run again. The answer is yes, but this time, as an independent candidate for City Council.
My family has faced significant health challenges, and life has a way of putting things in perspective. Being there for them must come first. Council lets me serve Maple Ridge while keeping my commitments to my family.
I’ve previously served three terms on council, including one as Mayor. During my time in office, I was proud that we kept taxes lower, closed the downtown encampment, introduced the first-in-BC Community Social Safety Initiative, and laid the groundwork to put long-term plans in place to help our city grow, without losing touch with what makes Maple Ridge special.
I know our community, I know the work, and I still have something to contribute.
I’d be honoured to serve again.
