Project Description
The City of Maple Ridge is planning a new neighbourhood park at 11375 Burnett St. This future park will increase access to outdoor recreation and nature experiences for residents living in the town centre.
The design and development of this park is included in the City’s 2026-2030 Capital Plan, where it's listed as ‘Fraserview Park Development’. This name is a placeholder until a formal name process is carried out.
Some interesting characteristics of this future park site:
- 11375 Burnett St. is owned by City of Maple Ridge.
- Located within the City’s Town Centre Area Plan boundary.
- Currently most wooded with a Fortis BC right-of-way running through its northeast quarter.
- Topography includes steep slopes, and the potential for vantage points.
- At 2.4-hectares this will be the City’s second largest neighborhood park by land area.
The new neighbourhood park will include amenities selected by the community through a public engagement process, which could include trails, play areas, or public art.
Neighbourhood parks are intended to serve the area within a five-minute walk to the park or approximately a 500m radius. Nearby parks are Pazarena Park, Jim Hadgkiss Park, Telosky Stadium, and Kanaka Creek Regional Park.
