Multi-use path: 216 Street (Donovan Avenue to Dewdney Trunk Road)
Road upgrades on Donovan Avenue, Wicklow Way, 220 Street, and Selkirk Avenue to improve cycling facilities in this neighbourhood are complete. An additional multi-use path was installed on 216 Street to connect the improved bikeway to Dewdney Trunk Road.
As part of the City’s Safe School Travel Program, these changes were made in response to community feedback and are designed to provide a safer, more comfortable walking environment for students travelling to and from school, particularly those in the Glenwood Elementary, Westview Secondary, and Maple Ridge Secondary catchment areas. This interim project builds on improvements completed in 2025, which created a continuous walking route along 216 Street between Lougheed Highway and Dewdney Trunk Road.
The construction of traffic safety improvements along the bikeway were completed in March 2026. They include:
- Speed humps approximately every 100 metres
- Revised speed limit to 30 km/h
- Supportive signage and pavement markings
