The City of Maple Ridge is completing road upgrades on Donovan Avenue, Wicklow Way, 220 Street, and Selkirk Avenue to improve cycling facilities in this neighbourhood.

Description

The City is continuously seeking to improve its transportation network, as guided by the Strategic Transportation Plan. The Strategic Transportation Plan identifies Donovan Avenue, Wicklow Way, 220 Street, and Selkirk Avenue between 216 Street and 222 Street as an All Ages and Abilities neighbourhood bikeway.

To improve cycling facilities along this corridor, the City will be implementing traffic safety improvements that include:

  • Installing speed humps approximately every 100 metres
  • Revising the current 50 km/h speed limit to 30 km/h
  • Installing supportive signage and pavement markings
