Councillor Schiller is a long-time community volunteer and environmental leader who has been raising her family in the Whonnock neighbourhood of Maple Ridge.

She has lived in Maple Ridge for 12 years and her passion with environmental issues has led here to take action by partnering with Leanne Koehn, from the Ridge Meadows Recycling Society, to launch the first 'Repair Café' in the Fraser Valley. This project has helped diverted thousands of items from the landfill and helped promote the notion that we can fix items, rather than throw them out. In the process, this work has helped connect people with skills in electronics and carpentry to aid their neighbours.

Her career includes time with the City of Maple Ridge working with the City's committees and commissions, work with non-profit organizations and time working with the Province of BC.

Councillor Schiller's volunteer work includes the Maple Ridge Climate Hub, where her advocacy and passion for protecting the natural environment helped her decide to run as a candidate for Council.

Councillor Schiller's pledge to the community is to advocate for new recreation facilities, increased access to transit and infrastructure and diversifying our tax base by working collaboratively with her Council colleagues to ensure the City has a strong policy framework to guide decision making for today and the future.

Councillor Schiller's time as a liaison with the City's commissions and committees have energized her to be a voice for the diverse viewpoints and perspectives of the citizens she serves.
