About This Guide

Between large and well-known community events, privately organized gatherings, and seasonal businesses and attractions, tens of thousands of residents and visitors are attracted to Maple Ridge each year. Many events take place in Downtown Maple Ridge due to the infrastructure, services, connectivity, and convenience of the neighbourhood. Some events make their home at other locations, like the Albion Fairgrounds, because of specific requirements, and others take place across the city and draw folks from across the region and beyond.

Connect & Collaborate

Events are a great opportunity to cross-promote with your neighbouring businesses through a passport, scavenger hunt, or other engaging activity. Talk to your neighbours or other businesses offering complementary products or services to those you’re selling and see where your creativity might take you!

Collaborating with other businesses, speaking with organizations like the Downtown Maple Ridge BIA, the Ridge Meadows Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Maple Ridge, or consulting one of the great local agencies that specialize in brand marketing, are great ways to unlock the potential of community and special events in our city.

Most importantly, focus on what makes your business special. When you have something unique to offer, you’ll have no trouble coming up with great ideas for marketing your business and finding new customers.

No matter what you plan to do, be sure to have fun, friendly staff working as part of your team. A positive vibe and a smile go a long way!

Host Your Own Special Event

Businesses are welcome (and encouraged!) to host special events of their own in Maple Ridge and invite their customers and the community. After all, businesses are valued members of the community, too!

Perhaps you’re looking to hold an event in your parking lot, or maybe you’d like to join with neighbouring businesses to host a block party or festival. You and your team—and your customers—will have some great ideas for events!
