**Weather & Road Update** - Stay Safe With Heavy Rains Wind and Potential Flooding

Image

Heavy rains continue to persist today, and the BC River Forecast Centre’s Flood Watch remains in effect, causing localized flooding in some areas. 🌊

City crews are out in full force, actively monitoring road, river, dike, and storm station conditions, and responding to concerns by clearing catch basins, culverts, and ditches, placing barricades and signage as needed, and utilizing our hydro vacuum truck.

Residents are advised to:
- 🌊 Stay clear of fast-flowing rivers and unstable banks.
- 🚗 Drive safely and avoid flooded or barricaded areas.
- 🏠 If you’re in a low-lying area prone to flooding, have a plan to prevent damage to your home. Sandbags are available at the City’s Operations Centre (23925 Dewdney Trunk Rd.).
- 🍂 If you have a catch basin near your property, please help by keeping it clear of leaves and debris.
- 🌳 Be cautious in forested areas for fallen trees or dead branches.
- 🔦 Prepare for power outages with an emergency kit and plan.
