Maple Ridge, B.C., March 24, 2026 – Construction is beginning on the next phase of upgrades to Maple Ridge Park. This phase includes a new washroom building, three new picnic shelters, and parking improvements as part of a multi-year initiative to create a more functional and welcoming park.

Construction Impacts

The existing washroom, large picnic shelter, playground, and spray park will remain open during construction. A portion of the north parking lot will be closed for construction staging/storage.

  • Parking: A temporary overflow parking lot north of the park on 132 Ave will soon be completed. This lot will be open during construction and during summer months. The parking lot construction schedule and related closures will be communicated over the coming weeks
  • Picnic Shelters:
    • Large Shelter: Nearby daily construction (unlikely on weekends) throughout most of 2026. Available to rent seven days a week at a reduced rate of 25% off
    • Small Shelter: Will be removed to accommodate construction of the new shelter
    • Uncovered picnic tables: Will remain available during construction
  • Playground and Spray Park: The playground will remain open and the spray park will open in May. Access may be temporarily restricted while pathways are being repaved. Construction notices will be provided to the public
