Maple Ridge, B.C., August 9, 2024 – Maple Ridge Leisure Centre will be closed to the public from Aug. 18 to Sept. 10 for deep cleaning, preventative maintenance, upgrades and safety inspections. Regular operations will resume on Wednesday, Sept. 11.
Scope of Maintenance
During this period, comprehensive maintenance work will be carried out, including:
- Deep Cleaning – All areas of the facility, including pool tank and deck, fitness rooms, change rooms and common areas will undergo thorough cleaning
- Preventative maintenance: Essential maintenance and repair to pool mechanical and filtration equipment, plumbing and electrical components will be completed.
- Inspections: Routine safety inspections will ensure that all equipment and facilities meet the highest safety standards.
- Upgrades: New amenities will include a new spin-cycling studio, replacement of end-of-life fitness machine and reorganizing functional training room.
The work is done over the summer, as people can use the Hammond Outdoor Pool and take advantage of outdoor fitness opportunities.
Impact on Programs and Services
While the Leisure Centre is closed, all scheduled programs and services will be put on hold. All membership holders will have their passes automatically extended for the length of the closure.

Residents are also encouraged to explore alternative recreation options in the community, such as local parks, trails and outdoor fitness areas.
