Maple Ridge, B.C., July 30, 2026 – Maple Ridge Fire Rescue is bringing one of its favourite summer traditions back to the community with the return of Hot Summer Nights on Wednesday, Aug. 12.

The free, family-friendly event gives residents a chance to meet local firefighters, explore fire trucks, learn practical fire and emergency safety tips, and enjoy a fun summer evening with neighbours.

This year’s Hot Summer Nights event will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 12, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Fire Hall 4 (11240 238 Street).

Families are encouraged to stop by to meet the Maple Ridge Fire Rescue team, check out the fire trucks, take part in fire safety activities, and cool off with water activities. Residents are reminded to bring a bathing suit, towel, water bottle, sunscreen, and anything else to stay comfortable in warm weather.

“We’re excited to welcome families back to Hot Summer Nights,” said Assistant Fire Chief Nick Virs. “It’s a fun way to meet our firefighters, learn life-saving fire safety tips, and enjoy a summer evening together. With warm weather expected, it’s also a good reminder to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and take breaks from the heat and check in on your friends, family and neighbours who may be more vulnerable in extreme heat.”

The City had paused the events this summer due to Stage 3 water restrictions. Current Stage 2 water restriction conditions allow the event to move forward. If regional water restrictions change before Aug. 12, or if there is extreme weather, poor air quality, or an operational emergency, the event may be modified or cancelled. Water activities will follow all applicable regulations in place at the time of the event.
