Maple Ridge, B.C., July 7, 2025 – Four synthetic turf fields in Maple Ridge will undergo warranty repair work this summer as the supplier replaces the infill material.

The infill (green pellets between the grass) at Telosky Stadium (Morningstar and Polygon Fields), Golden Ears Field, and Samuel Robertson Technical Field will be replaced due to deficiencies of the existing Thermo-Plastic Elastomer (TPE) infill product.

This work is being carried out under warranty by the supplier at no cost to the City.

The new infill will be a recycled crumb rubber material, the same used at Karina LeBlanc Field and most synthetic turf fields in the region.

The TPE being removed from the fields will be sent to a recycling facility.

Temporary Closures to Complete the Repairs

To complete this work, the four fields will be temporarily closed for part of this summer. The City has been working closely with local sports organizations since fall 2024 to manage field bookings and minimize disruptions.

During the closures, Karina LeBlanc Field, Westview Secondary’s synthetic turf field, and all City grass fields will remain open for public use and scheduled sports activities.

Temporary Field Closure Schedule

The replacement work is scheduled as follows:

  • Telosky Stadium Fields (23000 116 Ave) – Closed mid-July – August 2025
  • Golden Ears Field (23125 116 Ave) – Closed during August 2025
  • Samuel Robertson Technical Field (10445 245 St.) – Closed August – September 2025

As extended dry conditions are required for the replacement process, the timing of the work may need to be adjusted slightly.

The City is thanking residents in advance for their patience and understanding during the field closures.
