CLOSURE: Saturday March 14, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Please be advised that Fern Crescent will be closed from approximately Balsam Street to 236 Street on March 14 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
A City contractor will be removing dead or nearly dead hemlock trees located less than one metre from the roadway. These trees present a moderate to high risk of falling, which could block the road, strike the pathway, or fall onto power lines and cause outages.
The branches and other tree material will be cut or chipped into the nearby green space so the nutrients can return to the forest.
Work is being completed on the weekend, with additional crew on site, to help limit impacts to residents.
Detour Route: A detour will be in place via Balsam Street, Larch Avenue, and 236 Street.
