Maple Ridge, B.C., June 24, 2024 – As we approach Canada Day, the City of Maple Ridge reminds residents that the sale and explosion of fireworks and firecrackers are not permitted within Maple Ridge without a permit.

Due to the current fire ban, fireworks permits will not be issued.

Fireworks pose a significant risk for personal injury and fire hazards in our community and can harm your neighbours, family pets and wildlife.

The  City’s Bylaw , Fire Departments and RCMP will be out addressing complaints closer to Canada Day.

Anyone found contravening the City’s regulations may be subject to a fine ranging from $500 to $1000 and will be required to turn over their fireworks immediately to an Officer.
