As you gear up for a night full of treats and tricks, keep these safety tips in mind to make sure everyone has a frightfully fantastic time!
- Bright & Visible: Wear reflective costumes or carry glow sticks/flashlights to be seen by drivers.
- Safe Costumes: Make sure costumes fit well to avoid trips, and choose flame-resistant materials.
- Drive with Caution - Watch for families and young children out trick and treating in residential areas. Give yourself extra time to navigate residential streets and stay alert.
- Choose Flameless: Use battery-operated candles or glow sticks inside pumpkins instead of real candles to prevent fire hazards.
- Watch Your Walkways: Keep paths clear of decorations that might cause trips or falls, and be sure to light the way for trick-or-treaters with safe, non-flammable lighting.
- Stay on Sidewalks: Use crosswalks, look both ways, and be cautious around driveways.
- Use Caution with Halloween Decorations: Check cords for fraying, don’t overload electrical outlets, and turn off any decorations before going to bed.
Stay spooky and safe out there!
