BC Buy Local Week (December 2nd – 8th, 2024) is an annual celebration of the unique contributions that B.C. businesses make to our economy. They strengthen our social fabric and donate to local causes. They provide great jobs and support local suppliers, keeping money circulating in the community. It also helps showcase Maple Ridge local-owned businesses and local grown and local-made products found in stores everywhere.

Check out BC Buy Local Week website to learn 7 ways you can Buy Local this #BCBuyLocal Week and all year round!

What is Maple Ridge Buy Local?

Maple Ridge has partnered with BC Buy Local, a province-wide initiative working to build awareness about the importance and impact of local businesses to our community and encourage consumers to shift their spending to local businesses instead of multinational chains or on-line giants.

We encourage all local businesses to register with the Maple Ridge Buy Local initiative and show their localness. Eligible businesses can receive a free Buy Local kit and access to BC Buy Local promotional activities and resources.

Why buy local?

When you buy local, you keep your money in your community and start a ripple of positive impact that makes a difference socially, economically, and environmentally. You support your neighbours and friends, and you help build a thriving local economy that can provide ample goods and services, as well as meaningful jobs for more Maple Ridge residents.

Local businesses strengthen our community, connect and support us socially, and enhance employment and wealth by circulating dollars many times between businesses within the city and region. Your local buying is a vote of confidence in Maple Ridge, and you're saying 'I believe in my community and what it can do.'
