Maple Ridge, B.C., July 9, 2025 – Maple Ridge Fire Rescue crews are bringing the heat and the fun back to local parks this summer with the return of the popular Hot Summer Nights series.
These free, family-friendly events give residents the chance to connect with their local firefighters, explore fire trucks, take part in interactive safety demos, learn about emergency preparedness, and cool off with water activities.
Hot Summer Nights will run every Wednesday from July 23 to August 13, from 6:15 to 8:00 p.m. at the following locations:
- July 23 – Firefighters Park (Fire Hall No. 4) 11240 238 St.
- July 30 – Alouette Elementary (rear park) 22155 Isaac Cres and Whonnock Lake Park, 27871 113 Ave.
- Aug. 6 - Laity View Elementary, 21023 123 Ave. and Alexander Robinson Elementary (Creekside), 11849 238B St.
- Aug. 13 - Albion Sports Complex, 23778 104 Ave.
“We’re excited to welcome families back to Hot Summer Nights,” said Assistant Fire Chief James Clelland. “It’s a fun way for people of all ages to meet our team, learn life-saving fire safety tips, and enjoy a refreshing evening. With hotter temperatures forecast for the season, it’s also a great way to cool off while staying safe. We encourage everyone to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and take breaks in the shade or indoors when needed. And don’t forget your bathing suit!”
Please note that events may be modified or cancelled due to extreme weather or regional water restrictions, which help protect our water supply during dry conditions. Water activities will follow any applicable regulations in place at the time of the event.
