Residents Invited to Celebrate the Night with Fireworks and Family Fun on Oct. 18

Maple Ridge, B.C., October 6, 2025 – Join the City of Maple Ridge for an evening of lights, spooky fun, and entertainment as Memorial Peace Park transforms into a festival of colour for Celebrate the Night on Saturday, October 18. 

The free event kicks off at 6:00 p.m. when the park will come alive with glowing light displays, food trucks, games and activities for all ages, music and entertainment across the park, and it all builds up to a dazzling fireworks finale at 8:00 p.m. 

This year’s celebration includes: 

  • Family Fun – Roving entertainers, balloon twisting, face painting, music, a contortionist performance, and the popular carousel ride is back 
  • Food Trucks – A variety of festival favourites to enjoy 
  • Games and Light Displays – Activities and glowing displays for all ages 
  • Costume Contest – Share your creativity! Post your photos on Instagram or Facebook tagging @YourMapleRidge and #CelebrateTheNight by midnight on October 19 for a chance to win. Details at MapleRidge.ca/CelebrateTheNight
  • Fireworks Finale – A breathtaking display lighting up the sky at 8:00 p.m. 

New this year: An early access period (5:30–6:00 p.m.) for individuals with diverse disabilities and their families. This quieter timeframe is designed to provide a more comfortable experience with reduced crowds and minimal line-ups. A Sensory Room will also be available in the Alder Room at the Maple Ridge Leisure Centre. 

Fireworks Display Safety Measures 

For everyone’s safety, the Maple Ridge Fire Department will supervise a designated safety zone around the Maple Ridge Civic Centre during the fireworks. Residents are reminded that fireworks are prohibited in the city without a special events permit. Sensory Room located in the Alder Room of Maple Ridge Leisure Centre  

Road Closures 

Attendees should be aware of road closures and detours in the area and plan accordingly. With parking limited, residents are encouraged to walk, cycle, take transit, or carpool.
