Maple Ridge, B.C., July 16, 2024 – After a year of planning by the Maple Ridge 2024 BC Summer Games Society, the City is excited to welcome over 3000 athletes, coaches, and sports officials arriving in Maple Ridge on Wednesday, July 17, to begin the province’s largest sports competition.

Over the next five days, the 1700+ volunteers will operate the province’s largest bus fleet, serve over 35,000 meals, and provide accommodations and other support for all the athletes and coaches at local schools. This work supports the 22 sports competitions at 19 venues.

“Last week, Council members met some of the over 100 athletes and coaches excited to represent Maple Ridge at the BC Summer Games,” said Mayor Ruimy. “This was a reminder that there are young athletes, coaches, and sports officials from all around BC who will be representing communities like ours in this amazing sports competition. I encourage everyone to take some time to watch the competitions to cheer on all athletes and make them feel at home! Let the Games begin!”
