Maple Ridge, B.C., November 2, 2026 — The City is moving forward with planned playground replacements at Alexander Robinson Park and Fletcher Park to ensure these spaces meet the needs of local families and continue the City’s commitment to providing safe, inclusive and engaging spaces. Residents are invited to share their input on new playground equipment and park features by Nov 22.

Project Highlights

The aging playground equipment at Fletcher Park (12260 Fletcher Street) and Alexandar Robinson Park (23761 118 Avenue) has reached the end of its service life and will be replaced to enhance safety and accessibility and support more active, social and inclusive play.

These new playgrounds will feature modern equipment that encourages physical activity, creativity, and social interaction, offering engaging spaces for children aged 2 to 5 years at Alexander Robinson Park and 2 to 12 years at Fletcher Park. The playground replacement projects are part of the City’s ongoing commitment to maintain and renew parks infrastructure across Maple Ridge. By investing in lifecycle replacement, the City is helping protect public assets while ensuring parks continue to meet the needs of current and future residents.

Funding for these projects is within the City’s Capital Plan and Infrastructure Replacement Reserve.

Next Steps

Findings from the community engagement will be shared on the project pages and will be used to inform the design of the playground features. Construction is anticipated to begin in summer 2027.

Work is expected to include removal of existing playground equipment, site preparation, installation of new play features, safety surfacing, and site improvements. The City will provide advance notice of construction timing and related impacts.
