Council is committed to conducting business in a manner that permits public participation at every opportunity. Due to COVID-19, Council Chambers is closed to the public and the public is invited to attend any of the following meetings of Council using virtual tools (see below). All Committee of the Whole meetings are followed by a Community Forum where the public are invited to speak to Council on items that are of concern to them, with the exception of Public Hearing bylaws that have not yet reached conclusion. Regular Council Meetings have a Public Question Period, guided by Council Policy 3.15
The City is offering an online meeting tool to allow the public to participate virtually. In order to participate virtually, the public is required to register using the Zoom participation link. Using Zoom, questions from the Public during Question Period of the Regular Council Meeting and/or Community Forum of the Committee of the Whole Meeting can be facilitated via email to the Clerks department and/or via the raised hand function through Zoom meeting.
