I’m a Maple Ridge parent with two sons in SD42, a realtor, builder and UVic MBA. I’ve spent the past year reading audited statements, board minutes and public records—and learned how much you can find when you look.
If elected, I’ll bring three habits to the Board.
Remember who the Board answers to. Trustees provide oversight on behalf of students, parents and the public—not to make senior administration’s job easier.
Ask questions before the vote. I’ll ask what spending achieves and what alternatives were considered while the budget remains open, in public—not afterward.
Apply the parent test. Before voting, I’ll ask: if this were my child, would this decision be good enough?
No trustee acts alone. I can control my questions, the evidence I bring and whether I answer the people who contact me.
That’s what I’m asking you to hold me to.
