Project Description
The City is proposing park improvements at Volker Park including a new playground, spray park, picnic shelter, and washroom. A new parking area is also proposed to supplement the street parking in the area.
Due to significant vandalism to the playground equipment in early 2025, the climbing structure must be replaced. Engagement results from this playground replacement engagement indicated a strong interest in developing a spray park at Volker Park. A spray park for west Maple Ridge was included in the City’s Capital Plan for 2025/2026.
The old playground structure has been removed and temporary play equipment pieces have been installed for the community's use until the new playground and spray park are constructed.
