Cycling safety has been enhanced on 240 Street with the introduction of new pavement markings and cycling facilities.

The City has introduced new pavement markings and cycling facilities on 240 Street. These improvements provide a cost-effective interim step to improve safety and connectivity for people cycling and using micromobility, while maintaining vehicle travel and parking where possible.

Improvements included:

  • Pavement renewal
  • Line painting
  • Signage
  • Delineators
  • Crosswalk upgrades

Construction completed in October 2025.

Future Widening of 240 Street

As per the Strategic Transportation Plan, future plans are to widen 240 Street to four lanes with off-street, all ages and abilities (AAA) cycling paths, better serving the eastern portion of Maple Ridge and connecting 240 Street to Golden Ears Park and Silver Valley.
