Maple Ridge, B.C., Sept. 28, 2026 — Maple Ridge households can expect to receive a voter information mailout this week as the City prepares for the 2026 Local General Election on Saturday, Oct. 17.
The mailout includes key information to help residents plan to vote, including how to vote by mail, in advance or on General Voting Day. It also includes information about the assent vote process on long-term borrowing for the three proposed Recreation Ready projects to help residents be informed before they cast their vote. You are not required to bring the mailout with you to vote.
With a provincial election campaign also underway, residents will see and hear a great deal of election information in the coming weeks and there may be some confusion. The Maple Ridge local election is separate from the provincial election, with its own candidates, ballots, asset voting (referendum) questions, voting locations and voting dates.
“We want residents to have clear information about where, when and how to vote in the local election well before they cast their ballot,” said Carolyn Mushata, Director of Legislative Services and Chief Election Officer. “The voter mailout is an important resource that outlines the different ways to vote and provides information about the assent vote questions. We encourage residents to review the information; check which election it applies to and plan to vote.”
On Oct. 17, Maple Ridge voters will elect one Mayor, six Councillors and five School Trustees for School District No. 42. Elected officials will serve a four-year term from November 2026 to October 2030. A full list of candidates is available at MapleRidge.ca/2026Candidates. Voters will also be asked to vote on three separate assent vote questions related to proposed long-term borrowing for three recreation projects.
Three Ways to Vote
Residents can vote by mail, at an advance voting opportunity or on General Voting Day. Voting locations, hours and eligibility information are available at MapleRidge.ca/GoVote.
Vote by mail
Eligible voters can apply for a mail ballot now at MapleRidge.ca/GoVote, which will be available for pick up in early October. Completed mail ballots must be received by the Chief Election Officer no later than 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, to be counted.
Vote in Advance from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on following dates:
- Wednesday, Oct. 7 - Albion Community Centre (24165 104 Ave.) or St. Luke’s Hall (20285 Dewdney Trunk Rd.)
- Saturday, Oct. 10 - Ridge Meadows Seniors Activity Centre (12150 224 St.)
- Wednesday, Oct. 14 - Albion Community Centre or St. Luke’s Hall
- Thursday, Oct. 15 - Albion Community Centre, St. Luke’s Hall or Fraserview Village Hall (22610 116 Ave.)
Vote on General Voting Day – Sat., Oct. 17 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m at:
- Whonnock Elementary School – 27471 112 Ave.
- Garibaldi Secondary School – 24789 Dewdney Trunk Rd.
- Albion Community Centre – 24165 104 Ave.

Eligible residents who are not on the Provincial List of Voters may register when voting by providing two pieces of identification that show their name and residential address.
Assent Vote
Voters will also be asked three assent vote questions about whether they support long-term borrowing for proposed Recreation Ready projects:
- Hammond Aquatics and Recreation Centre
- Hammond Multi-Use Community Park
- Albion Twin-Rink Arena Expansion
Each assent vote question is decided separately and will pass if more than 50 per cent of valid votes cast are Yes.
